It was partly injuries. But I recall reading at the time that Reinhart made a medium-sized killing on penny stocks on the old Vancouver exchange, and didn't need to play hockey for money anymore. He had already missed a lot of time due to nagging injuries, and the money made it easier to decide to pack it in. (This was back when the average NHL salary was about $200,000, so he wasn't going to become a millionaire by playing the game.)
