Its cool. You just shared what you heard.
If I had to guess, I think his family/agent was trying to put out a vibe that he had multiple NHL teams interested in him to see if one of the teams interested in him would offer a NHL contract.
Looks like that didn't happen and he just took the best AHL deal.
