I wonder what would happen if he were to legitimately, completely combust before the convention. The whole house of cards tumbles and for once, it's too much, and a significant chunk of his supporters, all but the really die-hard ones, retreat to their dens. What the heck do the Republicans do? Do they nominate someone else, and would that be enough to result in riots from whatever support Trump still has?
It won't happen, I'm sure, because there's no reason to think he won't be just as immune to these matters as he has been to everything else. But interesting to think about.
