Mostly because he continued to improve and proved the doubters, yourself being one of the most vocal, wrong about his play and his development. This kid was not being judged on his play or his development, but instead being judged (unfairly) by who drafted him and a stupid comment made on the air after he was picked, so there is that difference. But on Jankowski I maintained a position on the player that was supported only by his play. I stated that he was likely to be a third line center for the Flames and that he had potential to be more as I believed the system he was playing in was holding him back from contributing on the offensive side of the puck. No fanciful declarations that he was going to be a top line talent or the most talented player to come out of the draft, just comments of his development and where he would likely fit with the Flames when he came out of school. How is that turning out for us so far Vulcan?

On Nylander, my concerns are that he turns into another Baertschi. I don't see top line talent in him. I don't see his game translating to the NHL. I see him being a perimeter pass first player. I don't see the speed, size or strength to be more than that at this time. I see a guy that would be a second line player if he develops. The downside on him is I don't think he plays in the NHL if that development doesn't happen. He isn't a player that could play down the lineup, so he is more of a high risk high reward pick. He is incredibly skilled, but he's a pretty player. I'm not sure that fits with the direction the team is going. If the Flames were in the eastern conference I would be more confident in selecting him. I have concerns about him being a success in the western conference.
Some truth, heck you were making up crap that I never made. I backed off because I realized I was dealing with someone who had lost touch with something. Now for you to claim that dissentowner is suffering from the same affliction was just too easy to take a potshot.

I think Nylander would be a fine choice at six along with a couple of others such as Juolevi or the other two defenceman.
