A few years ago I started getting really bad allergies in the spring and summer, and for a little while it stopped responding to antihistamines. That's when the doctor put me on nasacort (I am pretty sure at that time it was by prescription, I see now you can get it OTC).

Nasacort was a lifesaver, it took about 2 weeks to take full effect, two sprays in each nostril every day, but after that no symptoms at all. I used it for a couple years then I stopped getting allergies, I am sure not because of nasacort probably just grew out of it.
