This is fantastic. I've always been aware of the bylaw but have usually gone ahead and done similar activities anyway. Growing up I would usually build a mini snowboard park in my back yard every winter. I never skateboarded but would have love a miniramp to bike as a kid. Currently I have a pump track in my back yard and the neighbourhood kids love it. As far as I'm concerned it's better to have kids playing outside than sitting in front of a TV.
Almost every kid skateboards or BMXs at one point in their life. The fact that Calgary is 30 years behind where we should be when it comes to facilities is why there is such a large demand for backyard ramps.
