If you take Piazza out of the line-up you make an already weak Padres offense basically inept. Piazza is not the guy that he used ot be but he still is the best hitter on that team and catcher probaly is the best if not only spot to play him.

We're talking about a pop-fly here...not some miraculous diving play. A routine pop-fly. He over-ran it.
A veteren like that should be embarrased he missed it. You don't play baseball your whole life and not learn how to catch those. .300 batting average or not, its inexcusable.
