I think that this conversation the last few pages is exactly the false - and, to my mind, ridiculous - equivalency the dialogue in the States will take prior to the election.

Republican strategists, having realized that nominee Trump has been chosen on the basis of an imaginary wall funded by Mexico and the outlaw of Muslims entering the US, will seek to make the conversation a comparison between two awful candidates. This is a familiar tactic to Republicans and the Right in the States anyway: all viewpoints are equal, right? Like Intelligent Design and Evolution both being theories and all.

But the thing is: Clinton sucks. But she is not a psychotic populist idiot with insane theories. She simply isn't. I'm sure the dialogue in the States will have that tenor and will be full of "who is worse?" discussions (here too, as we've seen), but the fact is that Trump is on a completely different scale of awful for the world, US and Canada, and I don't think it should be forgotten.
