Is that different from dipping?

Edit: Oh, like a vinyl thing? I don't know how much time I'd want to spend on taking care of that though. I'm not really planning any major mods to the vehicle; it's really just going to be a commuter.

I phoned a place in town that does dipping and they ballparked $1500-$2000 for a heavy black matte. I didn't specify the number of coats though, but I'd be wanting 5 or 6 I think.
