If the negotiations do go to arbitration, I do think Colborne gets at least 3 million a year. Just based on his offensive production compared to other NHL comparables. Arb deals are often shorter in term.
I could see the contract coming to 3 mill for 2 years.
Hopefully they can come to a deal before then. Personally, I'd rather have a 2.8x4 type contract. Hoping for 2.0-2.5mill is just silly IMO. Who gets 44 points in 73 games, then makes that little? Backes (a UFA) has many more intangibles, but he got 45 points in 79 games. According to Friedman, is demanding 6 million for 4 years. He's also set to decline further.
