No way that this could help Hillary. In fact, If Sanders does bring down Trump a notch or two that will make it that much harder for Hillary to close this thing.
Trump has already won the nomination. If he wins the debate, he wins via making himself look good. If he loses the debate, he wins via hurting Hillary.
If this happens it's a brilliant strategy. Trump is going to mess with Hillary by propping up Bernie. Also, if this does happen I think that people will be surprised at how much Trump and Sanders agree on.
