I remember when he was dealt to the Lethbridge Hurricanes at the WHL trade deadline, he joined an already good team and made them better. He simply stuck out in a very good way and the 'Canes made it to the Memorial Cup final game that year but came up short.
Too bad he had to be a bridesmaid. Losing in the Memorial Cup and losing in the Stanley Cup. I always liked Phillips, it would have been nice to see him win.
Also pretty rare to spend that many years playing for the same team. One of the few to play his entire career, and a long career too, for the same franchise.
