Trading down doesn't work, necessarily, if you know who you want and they're also highly ranked.

Ex. If Columbus wants Dubois, they can really only trade with Edmonton, otherwise they risk losing their guy...and then, it becomes a bluffing game as Edmonton would have to believe they're going to take the Fin.

Ex. No one thought Seth Jones would drop to #4 in his draft...sure, Tampa could have traded down before taking Drouin, but their only options were to find a deal with Florida or maybe Nashville (which may even have seemed too risky, depending on if they thought someone had Barkov rated highly)

Anyway, the Fin dropping to #4 wouldn't be totally shocking to me, especially with Dubois being a C...and Tkachuk having such a solid playoff.
