The ones that stand out for me are mostly the near death.
One summer I was going to a hippy yoga retreat at fortress. It was summer so nobody was around. During the hillclimb I'd get my old grand marquis to drift a bit on the hairpins, at about 5k an hour. My friend was amazed by this and wanted me to teach him. So we took his stupid Mazda 3 car and we're now driving downhill. He was shaking the wheel on straights, trying to replicate what I did. I didn't clue in that this was absolutely the wrong thing to do, soon after he's over steering massively and I'm seeing cliff, mountain, cliff, mountain until we finally ride up on the high ground.
Another was my first year snowboarding. I was an expert skier but amateur boarder. I decided at sunshine to take the trees to the right of wawa teebar. Clipped a log and went head down into a tree well. Twenty minutes later I unclipped my bindings and used the board as a rescue device. Took every ounce of energy I had. My friend rather loyally was still at the bottom, and said I was white as a sheet.
