I met Vernon when I was child. Must have been between 86-89. We were at Phil's on 14 ST SW, and he was there having breakfast, probably hung over. My dad foolishly interrupted him during his breakfast, but he genuinely greeted me, gave me a high five and an autograph. He could have been a total dick, but took out 2 minutes for me. Definite professional.
