It's not for everyone though. I didn't care about that much when I was younger. I lived in a new house and was happy with it. Now I enjoy the peaceful nature sounds and privacy. My kids love it too, chasing porcupines, climbing trees etc.

Lots of the communities mentioned in this thread (including several new ones) back onto Fish Creek park which has loads of wildlife, literally in your backyard in some cases.
And like any of the 70's or 80's built communities actually have more peaceful nature sounds and less concrete or siding. Hah. That's quite the stretch.
Again you might have a specific property location that lends itself to 'nature' but again that can be bought in any community, including all new developments. Hell they're building the new area of Cranston in the valley adjacent the river with fish creek completely surrounding it.
