Kind of is if you want mature trees etc. New developments have none of that. Concrete and vinyl siding. Plus mostly no back lanes and 2 storey homes. No privacy.
It's not for everyone though. I didn't care about that much when I was younger. I lived in a new house and was happy with it. Now I enjoy the peaceful nature sounds and privacy. My kids love it too, chasing porcupines, climbing trees etc.
