This is the issue here, most of our trade is with the US, any sort of protectionist trade policy in the US is never good for Canada. When you look at the details, cancelling Keystone was a protectionist policy and probably a violation of NAFTA. Look for more of this as part of a Trump presidency, in trade policy he is very left of centre and not far off Sanders.
I can' t really speak for the Americans, but both the G&M and the NP have studied the impact of a Trump presidency on The Canadian economy and its not seen as favourable.
