Thing is, money is very important, but it's not everything, and it's not like he's going to take a pay cut to become a head coach. I'm sure his desire to actually be a head coach and have that responsibility is probably a lot more of burning factor than whatever the financial implications of his next move will be.

And these guys are competitive. If he's any good, or if he's going to be any good, I doubt he's all that fearful of the risks of stepping out of his comfort zone and becoming a head coach. These guys want to take that risk, and don't tend to worry about what they might lose, but focus more on what they might gain and have full belief in themselves.
