Well for the first half of the year he scored a goal per game and was highly thought of.

Then he finished the year with something like 4 goals in 17 games and disappointed. And then he didn't have a strong playoffs and disappointed. And then you have his strange assist totals (or lack of them.)

Scouts don't like it when players go downhill over the course of the season. They prefer it when players improve over the course of the season. Regression can be worrying and a sign the prospect has stopped and slowed his development. You'd much rather take a guy who showed improvement in multiple areas. There are some questions on his hockey IQ, how much he drives the offence.

He's a guy you wouldn't mind trading up with your 2nds to get. But he's not a guy I'd be excited to trade down from #6 and grab. The players around the range of #6 are so much more attractive IMO.
