Point is there is always good with the bad. Chicago wasn't Chicago that long ago. LA was a perennial mediocre team. New Jersey was a Mickey mouse organization. Things take time. Let it happen and enjoy it, no need to stress it out.
In coming weeks the Flames will be picking 6th overall, trying to sign a big name UFA, trying to acquire goalie, hire a new coach.
Who knows maybe Calgary Next might even get on the right path? Dare to dream but enjoy.

None of my what-ifs were dependent on player's panning out. They were largely dependent on managerial decisions, and draft picks are a managerial decision. Luck is for the prepared mind. Only the Dallas/St.Louis series was outside of the Flames control. So the thick of your good luck is Gaudreau, Brodie, Giordano, and Monahan? What about Irving, Chucko, Nemisz, Howse, etc?
Some of yours aren't even relevant IMO. Andironack was garbage this year. Huska is getting nothing from Poirer, Klimchuck or Arnold. Not sure what Adirondack being in the Pacific coast has to do with the good? Even if the Kings clinch the last playoff spot, I'm not sure that's detrimental to the rebuild. Maybe you can argue that the winning season led to the Frolik signing, but that's about it. Plus there's no way the Flames draft Da Colle. It was either Bennett or Drasaitl. Both look like studs at this point so its a wash.
