Usually people grow wiser with age, but that's not always the case. More often people get more set in their ways, become more stubborn about things they are ignorant of and fear change. If you can sit here and tell me that weed is more harmful than alcohol, I don't think any rational person would call you a wise man.
Society hasn't studied marijuana nearly enough due to it being illegal. Many lies were spread by big corporations that were threatened by this drug in the 1920's. More than just drug companies. Hemp has many uses and threatened several industries. The more we know about it, the more we accept it as more than just a recreational drug.
Even if we accepted it as nothing more than a recreational drug, it's helping to keep people away from harmful drugs like alcohol, cigarettes and abusing prescription medication (which is easy to OD on).
How many celebrities have we lost lately because of prescription medication? Way too many. Meanwhile the biggest weed advocates Willie Nelson and Cheech n Chong are still going strong.
