I think the firing and Hamilton trade proved there isn't a pipeline to what the Flames are doing and thinking, so I don't get jumpy based on media suggestions. Most of them are baseless.
Anyone remember when Button interviewed Nolan years ago and then struck him from the list when he told all the media he interviewed in Calgary?
Treliving isn't a willy nilly guy. He wouldn't talk possession, get Burke talking possession and then hire Carlyle unless there was a strong indication that his past possession stats were circumstantial.
I do think the Flames are getting ready to build a "team" behind the bench, and not one man.
Hartley had a caddy and a first time coach; he was short on depth on the bench.
Wouldn't surprise me at all to see an announcement like Travis Green with Crawford as an assistant/associate.
