With Boudreau out, Maybe they wait for the playoffs to end. Get a chance to chat up Muller or others.
While it looks that way right now, we can also look at it another way. Perhaps the Kings have reached the point where they just plateaued again, and with their big contracts and salary cap issues, are about to start trending down. That is what people thought of them after last year (some people at least), and though they appeared to be 'back in form', they very well may be a team that is going to keep regressing. In that case, a younger team like Calgary may be a preferred landing spot for a coach.

Well, at least that is one way to look at it. It just depends on where you view LA on a timeline. They may indeed have a few more cups in them, or last season was the 'beginning of the end' so to speak.

His rregular season records are impressive but look at those teams he coached. Wasn't there also a lot of "unsustainable" play from the Ducks last year as well? They weren't exactly analytics darlings either, they just had a great roster.

Boudreau has never strikes me as that top tier coach in that Babcock, Sutter, Quenneville group. I dont think he's even at the same tier as guys like Hitchcock, Laviolette, Tippet, and Vigneault.
I agree with Boudreau getting over-hyped lately. Yes, he has the record for quickest wins, etc. I remember him look rather incompetent in Washington, and that team really fell apart at the seams with him there. Trotz did a heck of a job - though they did turn over a significant portion of the roster. That may also have been a bit Trotz-driven, however, as I am sure he wasn't shy about asking for certain types of players.

Boudreau also underwhelmed in Anaheim I thought this past season. Was it really him spearheading the drastic 180 on the season, or was that Paul MacLean? I would personally have been 'fine' with Boudreau taking over - I really can't say he is terrible, or he is great. I would have kept an open mind and tried to look on the positive side. I just really feel he is over-hyped at the moment for some reason as well.
