So I was just browsing Hockeydb (
http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/nhl1984e.html) looking at past drafts and 1984 has got to be the best ever draft for the Flames. Their highest pick was 12th overall but they got some nice steals in the later rounds.
1st Round 12th overall - Gary Roberts
6th Round 117th overall - Brett Hull
9st Round 180th overall - Gary Suter
To put this in perspective...
All Flames players drafted in 1984 combined for total of 3,645 career points, while all Oilers players combined for total of 92 career points.
Does anyone know who was head of scouting in 1984? cause I could go for another draft like that.
