Oh no doubt -- there are societal and "future" benefits to this. Depending on the sentence, their surviving kids might have a chance to escape CrazyTown, but I suspect it's more likely they'll be fostered with family.

I think it's a correct and just decision; it's just that unlike some convictions / acquittals (e.g. OJ finally goes to jail), there's no sense of joy to be had at this one.
