Might be naive but I can't see them touching Netflix or Spotify... once people feel entitled to access to something removing it causes a lot of hard feelings and ultimately politicians are pulling the strings.
I think where there is a huge need for Canadian content is in journalism/news reporting. The national newspaper chains have almost no investigative journalists anymore with all their cutbacks and it's basically only the CBC that's doing anything beyond the high profile politics and criminal cases these days.
Leave entertainment programming alone but if they could somehow enhance news and journalism, I think that is something that can never be provided externally and is a huge need in canada.
Ultimately I hopethe Libs will move towards embedding long term protection of the CBC and maybe subsidize more Canadian news coverage. Producing Canadian dramas, etc, is something they shouldn't get involved in.
