Yeah well that's good and all, but Uber claims to do background checks as well. Apparently the city tested those and they failed, so who knows how stringent the Lyft checks are?
I think the hypocrisy angle is minimal though. Really the whole thing is minor IMO. It was a private conversation, and really who would be comfortable to find out their conversation was recorded after the fact in most situations? I know I wouldn't. It's basically an ambush. He chose his words poorly, but so what? Lots of people do in lots of situations.
