The most effective play I saw Nylander make was in the D-zone where he broke up a cross-ice pass. But I guess I'm expecting something more impressive than "hey, that's Lance Bouma levels of usefulness" because he didn't exactly convert it into anything.

Nylander had a few pretty moves but doesn't really seem like an impact forward as he seemed to get stuck in traffic... I see more of a complimentary finisher to add to a grinding team like Winnipeg, or Carolina rather than a good fit on a everyone-do-everything-skill team like Calgary/Chicago/San Jose. McLeod and Jost seem like much more useful, dynamic options, they play more of a playoff style with heavy, imposing forechecks and maintaining shifts and tracking down loose pucks to create some chances. Jost, McLeod, and Kyrou impressed me more than Nylander TBQH.

Am I saying the scouts are totally out to lunch on Nylander no but he does seem more like an Eberle than a Pavelski to me.

I also still think Laberge will be a good complimentary piece. He'll probably never be a star and I do think he needs time in the minors to work on his two-way game but I think he could develop into a very useful player.
