Apparently some people are. I'm assuming women getting driven home late at night alone would be. Who knows.
Uber did lose a 25 million lawsuit in California because of their background checks.
I think the insurance thing is pretty interesting as well. Sounds like the City kept asking to see their insurance, and Uber said don't worry we got it. It turns out they were their own insurance. Just paying out as things happened.
Also, its pretty interesting when he asks his driver about having insurance and it was pretty clear that he didnt have the required insurance.
