Here's a video of a day in the life of an AHL ref. Lots of penalties, some goals, a teddy bear toss and a bunch of bleeped swearing. Possibly NSFW for the edited swearing. This really shows the difficulties of reffing and will make you appreciate what they do with their limited resources. It also helps personify them upon making minor mistakes, very worth the watch.
