The Flames have a boat load of prospects. Almost more than the farm can handle and there already seems to be not enough ice time to go around.
IMO we need quality over quantity at this point, so trading down doesn't make much sense to me if it's just to draft an extra prospect or two.
Better off packaging those picks to grab this years "Dougie Hamilton" hopefully in the form of a goalie or big/skilled right winger.
Or package up what we already have to move UP from 6/7/8 instead.

If you're picking outside of the top three does it matter? The top three are players we need. After that there are a whole bunch of maybes. If you're taking a maybe, take several maybes and hope you hit one of the best out of that bunch. The uncertainty in the published lists makes me believe you can get as good a player at 15 as at 5. It is up to our scouts to discern the order and be accurate in their assessments.
