Regardless, I am really enjoying this thread, thanks Pylon.
I left the electrical to a shop. I'm colorblind, and monkeying with car wiring under a dark dash board can be a recipe for disaster if you can't tell violet from purple or blue, or green from brown. I mounted all the hardware, but had it professionally wired.

However, I should add... Even though I would say I'm a mediocre amateur mechanic at best, with YouTube, and all these amazing car forums now.... It's a god send. There's tons of things I've looked up online, on my phone, laying underneath a car that gives you step by step instructions anyone could follow. In the old days, you had to go my a service manual for 100 bucks or go to the library and hope someone else didn't have it. And that didn't give you a video walkthrough.

Don't be intimidated. Once you take on a couple small repairs, and the car fires up, or you solve whatever problem you have, it can be very satisfying, and a fun little hobby when you decide to start tinkering with old beaters. Also, you can save thousands of dollars in some cases.
