Detroit was arguably the worst team in the playoffs, just purely looking at goal differential. -13 on the season, and the next worst team was Philly at -4...and they're getting schooled by the Caps despite being one of the hottest teams down the stretch.
Even the Wild, who look really outmatched in their series, still had a +10 compared to Detroit's -13, yet only 87 points to the Red Wings 93 points. That's what the Central will do to a solid team, compared to playing in the Atlantic.
Tampa has been good so far, but probably had the easiest opponent of anyone. Could set up some false confidence heading into the next round.
