The biggest difference maker will be the fact that the long-timers are gone. Seats that have been held for 30 years by the NDP went PC last night which is huge.

IMO, it is the same here as it was in Alberta. The NDP was in charge for 17 years and it was unchecked to a large degree. On a small business level they wrecked havoc on the province that for years all anyone ever knew was young people leaving for Alberta because there was no opportunity here. We have a different economy than Alberta will ever have, but there should still be opportunity for people to stay and make a go of it.

Another huge issue I have was that there was a NDP mayor in Winnipeg who colluded with the NDP provincial government and they basically did what they want. Now we have a very good young mayor, and a PC government. Hopefully they get some results.

Either way its not NDP better, PC worse or vice versa. The PCs deserved to be kicked out in Alberta just like the NDP deserved to be kicked out here. The issue in Alberta and perhaps here was that people were so sick and tired of the government in charge that they completely swung over to the other side. Maybe both Manitoba and Alberta voting Liberal would have been a lot better. Who knows.
