They had plenty of roster spots even with Setoguchi. Byron wasn't let go over Raymond. They were both on waivers. And Setoguchi never prevented realistic opportunities for anyone at the time.

As for Pribyl, it's completely no risk because he's not a veteran like Setoguchi, who expects a spot on the team. He's a pro signing, and still young. If he makes the team ahead of someone else, that's on them.
