I can only speak for myself personally, but the reason I am tuning out of the playoffs this year has nothing to do with Sportsnet, and everything to do with my complete apathy with who wins. Growing up, if the Flames weren't in it, I could still watch guys like Sakic, or Yzerman, or even Bourque play and cheer them on. I looked up to those guys because they were respectable. They had an aura of majesty around them that I don't feel exists anymore, but maybe that was just me being a starry eyed kid that looked at the game differently than I do now. Who knows?
I can't think of a single player that carries that same vibrato in the NHL anymore. Other than maybe Iggy for nostalgia sake, or maybe Jagr because he just keeps playing. Otherwise, I really don't care.
