Seriously, I believe that BT will let him develop in Stockton until he's completely ready for The Show. There is no crucial need to have him play on the Flames right away, and there are 4 - 6 centers ahead of him on the depth chart. It could be a year, maybe 2, before he has a full time roster spot.
Post expansion, I can envision him centering the 2nd or 3rd line, thus freeing up Backlund for a trade.
Minor rant:
Jankowski is a LH shooting center-man.
Proposals slotting him in as a RW to start are ridiculous.

Yes, totally agree that it never happens.
Flames have a plethora of left-shooters - especially of the more skilled variety. Very few RHS organizationally.
Ferland (LHS), Colborne (LHS), Shinkaruk (LHS), Hudler (LHS) all played on the top RW position.
Ideal? No. However, organizationally, there is little choice here.
However, with Monahan - Backlund - Bennett - Jankowski will have to fit on a wing at least to start his career barring an injury, at least barring the Flames from deciding to use Bennett as a winger (and the last third of the season Bennett was being groomed for center, so we will have to wait and see).
