For his career's sake he better take the offseason seriously this time around and actually work to be on an NHL roster, or he will be retired by the age of 31. Coming into training camp and stating he hasn't worked on anything is not going to cut it.
Calgary benefits from a Mason Raymond who plays like he did in 2010-11 or 2013-14. He now knows that his contract does not protect him from the minors.
