This is a federal thing, not provincial though. The provincial NDP is supposed to be a separate entity.
But the federal NDP'ers do get funding and resources provided by the party including things like office space.

I don't know if everyone is separate though. My understanding is that if you are a provincial member you're also a federal member. There is no distinction. That is a huge difference from other parties where you aren't a member of the federal arm if you're a provincial party. You could be a Wildrose member provincially and Liberals federally for example, and the party constitutions would allow for that.
