Big games for the Bruins, Flyers, Red Wings, Rangers, and Islanders.

Flyers are currently on the outside looking in by 1 point, but have a game in hand.

Detroit and Boston both have 93 points, and Detroit is ahead only on ROWs, so if Detroit wins in a shootout, and Boston wins in regulation, we go to head to head matchup for a tiebreaker...that's not considering whether Philly wins both of their games, in which case, Detroit would miss the playoffs after 25 years due to having fewer points in the head to head with Boston.

Boston plays a relatively easy team in the Sens.

Philly plays a red hot Penguins team who have won 8 in a row. Tomorrow, Philly plays the Islanders tomorrow (see below).

Rangers play Detroit today, and are tied with the Islanders in points, but are behind them only because the Islanders have a game in hand. 3rd place in the division, or 1st wildcard spot is on the line, meaning these two teams will pay either the red hot Penguins, or the Florida Panthers.

The Islanders play a Sabres team today that has been pretty decent down the stretch, and then they'll play a playoff hungry Flyers team tomorrow...but then that game might be moot if the Flyers lose today and both the Red Wings and Bruins win today.

Confused yet? Don't feel bad if you are. Lots of variables still today in the east. Should be some exciting hockey for these 5 teams with something to play for still.
