Next year is where you get a better idea. He struggled mightily this year in his first full year in the NHL. If he has a similar year next year, he'll get moved either via trade or waivers/free agency. Between Shinkaruk/Klimchuk/Poirier/Jankowski/Pollock/1st round pick, there is going to be a ton of competition for the middle six spots on the roster next year, and unless he steps up to take possession of one, the Flames will have to move on.
