Maybe in some circumstances. But with the expansion draft pending, goalies' values will be substantially less.
TB will protect Vasilevski, not Bishop. Yes, I know his contract will expire, so that will impact whether they sign him and for how much.
No doubt they will look to trade him.
And the thing is, no other teams will be willing to give up much for him for the same reason - they can only protect one goalie.
The Flames are in a very unique position, having no goalies to protect (other than Ortio). Most teams will have at least 2. And thus won't have an appetite to pick up another.
