This is what "tanking" really looks like.

Bad play. Sloppy play. Lack of care. And a team that just rolls over or mails it in more nights than not.

This is what people wanted. It has arrived. And it's incredibly difficult to watch. And we've likely got 3-5 years of this ahead of us, no matter who is in charge.


But if you want those top-3 picks, you have to put a terrible product on the ice. And you're gonna have to have a lot of these games where the whole team just folds and walks away.


It's not good hockey. It's not fun to watch. The novelty of "young players" making mistakes all over the ice night after night doesn't last that long.

I disagree. This is what a badly managed team looks like, a badly managed playoff team with playoff aspirations even. Superficially there are similarities but that is it. This team has no direction for fans to understand, it had no intentions of tanking, had no decent managment of assets. What can you say other than this draft might result in a high pick inspite of management rather than because of it. This isn't a tank team this is just a really bad team, team tank is still waiting to get behind a proper rebuild.

That shinkaruk trade still baffles me, at this point in the rebuild would it not benefit us to have as many potential top six players as possible. Not trade them for a bottom six player that is easily found in the offseason. I dont care how many players we have like him, why trade him for something easily found?

Jim Benning looks real good when he described trading shink for Grandlund because Grandlund was a "200 ft player".

Grandlund was the only player to be a -4 vs Edmonton.

Hope Shink scored a couple in this game.
