IMO, cheering for a loss to better the Flames is more supporting the team we all love. Would you ever hope for a worse draft pick? Hoping for a win is exactly that. If there weren't any ramifications to a win/loss then it's a no brainer. A loss is a positive thing unfortunately at this stage of the season and of little consequence. The only part of this statement I worry about is building a losing culture like Edmonton has, however I think this statement/mindset kicked in for Edmonton long before the last 2-3 games of their season. They had this mindset for the final 25-30 games and that is what results in the Oilers now.
