David Jones had 15 points this year and had value. Iginla has value and is not done.
I feel like a lot of people on CP are saying it's crazy without actually evaluating the practicality of the situation. I doubt the Flames will be safely in a playoff spot by the trade deadline next year. I also doubt that Colorado will be completely out by the trade deadline. But if the right situation arises, Iginla could be a reasonable option.

Iggy has 21 goals from being force-fed PP time.
He's slow, not particularly strong on the puck, his shot is good but no longer world-class, and he's not nearly as gritty as he used to be. As others have mentioned, he would not be a good fit for Hartley's up-tempo system, but he doesn't offer much to fill in the missing skillsets on this team.
It'd be like the Owen Nolan signing, and Iggy would inevitably be the 3rd line boat anchor/whipping boy.
