You know what, I was watching the ending again, and again JDM is fantastic. As far as casting goes they hit that one out of the park.
But watching that ending again...is Carl ironclad safe?
Negan says: "If any screams cut the boy's other eye out and feed it to his dad."
That doesnt necessarily mean that it cant be Carl getting the Lucille treatment does it?
It would also check a lot of boxes, not as much as Glenn would with Daryl, Maggie, Abraham and Sasha, but if the story arc for this season is about the devastation of Rick then it would have a lot more impact on him than anyone else would.
Its just been rattling around in the back of my mind as well as, and admittedly I'm sure this has little bearing, it makes more sense based on the eeny-meeny game, where Negan was standing when he starts swinging relative to where Carl was kneeling.
