If you're a believer you might be of the opinion that God bestows certain talents on individuals and when those talents are used, such as going to school and becoming a doctor, that the cards are in play to heal people.
I don't think anyone means to take away from the doctors and nurses hard work and dedication, even they can't explain how some people pull through some illness or trauma.
