I have to agree with the Laine > Puljujarvi rank Henry. I actually think Laine could be a franchise winger, while Puljujarvi will 'merely' end up being a rather elite one that is perhaps a better 200ft player. Would this be an accurate summation by your views?
I mean, I would totally love either one. I also think Puljujarvi has such an underrated shot - especially his one-timer. Not at Laine's level, but very good nonetheless.
The most lavish praise I have heard being thrown on Laine is comparisons to the magnificent one. Definitely a huge step from that level, but I kind of see it what people are referring to. His size, reach, ability to control the puck and protect it. He is almost like a cross between Mario and Lindros, but just not at the level of either one (I don't think he is generational - just seems to have a bit of both styles).
I really like Dubois because he seems to almost be a sort of hybrid between Laine and Puljujarvi. The aggression of Laine (ok, more aggressive than Laine), with Puljujarvi's skating and non-stop motor. Actually, if I had to pick one prospect in this draft that I would compare to Sam Bennett - it would be Dubois. Just a larger version of Bennett is what I often see.
Again, none of the above is a perfect comparison - but just what I find myself reminded of the more I view these prospects.
