Any team in the league would want Hamonic on their team, heck every team would and I"m guessing the isles would love to keep him but he's pretty much said that he's going to play in western Canada next year. That fact alone really hamstrings the islanders here because there are realistically maybe 5 teams he'd want to play for. If he's dead set on only playing in western Canada then that's 4 teams. Sure, the isles can trade him to any team but he could just retire then sign a new contract with whoever he wants and that team would have given up assets for nothing.
It all boils down to 4 teams, you still have to offer market value for Hamonic but that market is only 4 teams. And as much as some want to poo poo all over wideman, he still has value.
